Police officers pictured taking bribe in Gombe state
Just as the spate of armed robbery has been on a
high in the country, some police officers have been caught on camera
taking bribe from motorists on the highway.
According to a Facebook by Aminu Gamawa, a lawyer and conflict
resolution analyst, the police officers who were patrolling the highway
in Gombe state, to secure the area were extorting the motorists on the
road.
He advised the police authorities to ensure that the security of
lives and properties are paramount in their minds and not their selfish
gains.

It is good and commendable that the police are patrolling our highways to enhance security.
Unfortunately, some of them are not doing the work they are supposed to
do. Instead, they are extorting money from innocent road users. If you
don't give them money they harass you.

somewhere close to Gombe city. Extortion by bad law enforcement officers
is common across the country. These officers are spoiling the name of
the good ones.
This must stop! Say no to corruption. Don't give! Don't ask! Don't take! Don't support!
